Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling den, highlights 150 one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that features many amenities accompanying the gambling den, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 table games.
