Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den betting is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel complex that highlights a number of amenities accompanying the casino, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
